visitors from afar

in honor of my two month birthday, g'ma and g'pa came from maine to visit again.

mom and dad, at this rate you're going to need a candle budget, geez
i was pretty excited to hang out with them and show them how much i had learned in 7 weeks. during their first visit (when i was 2 weeks old), g'ma and g'pa would inch up real close to me, making big smiles and strange high pitched grandparent squawking noises. in response, i would stare - usually cross eyed - into the vast baby abyss and ignore such kind gestures. however during this visit i was prepared for the smiles, and when g'ma and g'pa moved in, i locked my little blue eyes on them and flashed some big ole smiles myself.

smiley, smiley

we had some good times while they were here! we went to mommy and daddy's favorite breakfast spot, we cruised the pike place market to fufill g'pa's routine michou sandwich and doughnut cravings, and g'ma and i played for a very long time on my play mat.

g'ma, you didn't know i could do "cross - armed, growlie face"
the most exciting news from g'ma and g'pa's visit came after my two month check up at the doctor's office... besides the excruciating (more for mommy and daddy than me) vaccination shots i received, i learned that i officially weighed a touch over 11 pounds (25-50th percentile) and am a whole 24 inches long (85th percentile).  so why was this so exciting you inquire? for the last couple weeks, as i've grown, mom and especially dad have taken to calling me a "chunk-a-lunk", which has been kinda embarrassing. but after this news from the good doc, they've changed their tune and my new nick name is officially the skinny-mini!

wassup aunty bev
right after g'ma and g'pa left, i got to meet mommy's aunty bev who i'd heard lots about and who came all the way from pittsburgh to visit me.  auntie bev, oma and mommy took me a long walk around sunny ballard - one of my favorite activities and aunty bev regaled me with stores about my cousins olivia and elizabeth and how they're silly just like me.  i can't wait to meet them.
