its' been a busy end of my first summer. after our idaho family trip, i had one whole week at home before i was scheduled to head out and visit more family at goose rocks beach, maine. one week may sound like ample g'ma preparation time, but i assure you that given mommy and daddy's proclivity to overbook me, it was neither ample nor relaxing.
i've harnessed my burgeoning baby analytic skills to break down my week into four noteworthy events... so here goes.
| warn me next time you start snapping these, geez |
number one - the week started with me finding my hands. i figured out how to put them together, pass objects back and forth between them, and most importantly how to make them into little fists and shove 'em half way down my throat. mommy just loves the gutteral roars and associated drool waterfalls that billow out when i serve myself a fist sandwich lunch!
| come on, i know they'll fit in there |
number two - other exciting news was that my stylish auntie susie (
technical note to reader: she forewarned me that using the more accurate "great auntie" title was both completely out-of-the-question and would reduce any chance of receiving cute holiday baby gifts to nil ) came up for a weekend visit from the
94705. susie's arrival motivated the group to take on lots of exciting new adventures. these included a a daddy-guided architectural tour of capitol hill, a visit to
a hip and tasty new ballard mediterranean establishment, an attempted lick of daddy's saturday afternoon ice cream cone, and the requisite stop for any out-of-town guest...the ballard farmers market / sunday hipster parent baby parade.
| my hands or her beads, life's tough choices |
| auntie susie, you're a fine chair |
| a little closer daddy |
number three - my daddy's good friend joel was also in town for a wedding (which me and my tuxedo onesie also attended, btw) and he stayed a couple nights with us. mommy and daddy were too exhausted to take many shots of joel and me, but i must say he was a most rocking playmate. joel held me, he got on the ground with me, and we even got to do bicycle legs together! daddy told me that joel is much better at playing bicycle legs with me than he is at
using his own legs to pedal fast. But out of respect for my new found playmate, i chose not to pass on this information to him.
| mr joel, if you laid on your forearms all day, you'd be grumpy too |
number four - on a sad note, i had to take a night to bid farewell to my very new partner in crime, mr. theo wells. he and his mean parents dragged him to the
boring midwest, where they plan to feed him nothing but fried cheese curds and
leinenkugel.
| mr. theo, wake up, it's time for our goodbye hug |
before i leave you, i thought i'd also offer up some goofy pics of me, mommy and daddy. they are silly ones and even during our busiest weeks, we still find time to get our goof on.
| mommy, put my clothes back on |
| you got a big honker daddy |
| daddy, stop dressing like me, you're way not as cute |
