today i turned one month. i know what you're thinking...one month isn't so old. but if you compare what i've learned in one month to what you all learn in a month's time, i'm a genius! i can stick out my tongue, suck my thumb, make mouth bubbles, and i know how to raise my hand when it's time to speak up. i lift my head and focus my gaze on mommy and daddy. and i can even grab mommy or daddy's shirts while they hold me. in fact yesterday i grabbed mommy's hair. just my way of informing her it's time for a haircut! finally, i've learned that i like baths now that mommy and daddy wised up to using the baby bathtub instead of the cold bathroom sink.

overall, i've had a pretty sweet first month birthday. this morning mommy and daddy let me be a lazy bug and i slept in my favorite bouncy chair, while i made them do all the house chores. then daddy fed me with a bottle for the 1st time. it was a bit weird, but i handled it and him, like a pro. after that, mommy and daddy took me out to issaquah for my first real hike. i saw some really big old growth trees, a couple squirrels, lots of birds and a nice little lake. not a bad birthday all around... i'm now off to eat some baby birthday cake..."mommy, where you at?"
